மாவீரர்நாள்
October 5, 2025

The World Tamil Historical Society (WTHS) is proud to announce a special event in honor of Ninaivu Naal, the annual day of remembrance and homage for all those who have lost their lives in the struggle for Tamil Eelam. On Ninaivu Naal, the Tamil community around the world comes together to remember, reflect, and pay our respects to those who have sacrificed their lives for the cause of freedom and justice.

Significance of Ninaivu Naal

Ninaivu Naal, or Remembrance Day, is a day to remember and honor those who have given their lives in the fight for Tamil rights, dignity, and self-determination. Our event for Ninaivu Naal is an opportunity for the community to come together and keep the memory of those sacrifices alive. We pay tribute to the lives lost, and we also remember the contributions of the many who have worked and struggled for the Tamil cause over the years. Ninaivu Naal is a day of remembrance, but also a day to recommit ourselves to the cause of justice, unity, and the preservation of Tamil culture and identity

WTHS Celebrates the Spirit of Remembrance

WTHS will be holding a variety of programs and activities to help our community remember the importance of Ninaivu Naal. Through speeches, documentaries and discussions, we will be highlighting the historical significance of the Tamil struggle, as well as paying tribute to the sacrifices of those who gave their lives for a brighter tomorrow. We also want to remember those we have lost, not only to honor their memory, but to help the living find the strength to carry on their legacy of justice and equality.

Event Highlights

The WTHS event will feature a range of activities to ensure a meaningful commemoration, including:

  • Speeches and panel discussionsfrom prominent historians, activists, and survivors who will share personal stories and insights into the Tamil liberation struggle.
  • Cultural performancesthat reflect the resilience, strength, and unity of the Tamil people, including music, poetry, and dance.
  • Interactive exhibitsshowcasing the history of the struggle, photographs, and artifacts, allowing attendees to engage with the past and honor the legacy of the fallen heroes.

Unity in Remembrance

In addition to paying our respects to the lives lost on Ninaivu Naal, this year’s WTHS event is also about Tamil unity. It is a time to come together as Tamils and keep the memories and the work of those who died fighting for Tamil rights alive. We want to instill pride in the Tamil community that the past and present generations of Tamils will not forget those who sacrificed their lives, but instead, their names and their memories will be part of the Tamil community for generations to come.

Celebrate with WTHS Ninaivu Naal. Remember the brave and resilient spirit of the Tamil people and honour the fallen.
