In Association with World Tamil Historical Society (WTHS) Celebrate the festival of lights, Karthigai Deepam: A Festival Celebrating The Victory of Light over Darkness with us. WTHS has decided to organize the event of celebrating Karthigai Deepam in grand manner this year. Karthigai, one of the most sacred festivals in the Tamil calendar is a time when all Tamils in the world hold the lamp of Karthigai deepam. This Full Moon night of the Tamil month of Karthigai, it is customary for the Tamil world to join in unison in worshipping the divine light of Karthigai Deepam.

The Significance of Karthigai

Karthigai, which is celebrated during the Tamil month of Karthigai (November-December), is a significant Tamil festival that celebrates the victory of Lord Murugan, the Tamil god of war, over the demon Soorapadman. The festival is marked by the lighting of lamps, symbolizing the triumph of light over darkness and good over evil. The warm, flickering glow of the lamps create a magical atmosphere, illuminating homes, temples, and streets with joy and devotion.

In line with this spirit, WTHS would like to bring people together to celebrate the warmth, love, and unity that Karthigai represents. The event will feature cultural performances, traditional music, and a communal lighting of lamps, reminding us of the eternal victory of good over evil.

WTHS Celebrates Karthigai

WTHS will be a celebration of the diverse cultural heritage of Tamil Nadu and its deep-rooted connection to the light of Karthigai.
